SPECIAL LTS with SCOTTISH BREWERY INNIS & GUNN

SPECIAL LTS

SCOTTISH BREWERY INNIS & GUNN
Innis Label

There are very wonderful beers being brewed by Scottish brewery Innis & Gunn. The Irish Heather is one of the few in the city to feature them on tap. What makes Innis & Gunn so interesting is that their beer is aged in whiskey barrels, giving it a delicious flavor and beautiful color.

When we learned that a pal who works for Innis & Gunn in Edinburgh Is coming here on vacation we jumped at the chance to have her host one of the LTS dinners.

On Tuesday 11th September our friend Leila Arfa will introduce you to a special 2 course Innis & Gunn LTS.

In addition to a pint of the classic Innis & Gunn poured at the Heather, Leila has brought a real treat: first time in Canada and not yet available for sale  "Treacle Porter".

Innis & Gunn Original with Roast Suckling Pig
Innis & Gunn "Treacle Stout" with Sticky Toffee Pudding

$30 plus tax and service

Go Canucks Go!

Make the Irish Heather your HQ to catch the Canucks in the playoffs!
The Heather Group has two spots, both perfect for taking in the game with a few friends, a few beers and some great food. If you’re looking for an intimate space head to the Bitter Tasting Room – we’ve got the big screen on and space for up to 25 people. Handmade pretzels, a few brews and the game with your buddies – sound tempting?

Or do you love your whisk(e)y and you're an ale aficionado? Then come on down to the Shebeen. With three screens, every seat in the house is a good one and you won’t miss a moment of the action. Take the chance to try one of our whisk(e)y flights and support our boys in blue.
Don’t miss out! For reservations email Sean@irishheather.com

Heather Hospitality Group Sets the Gold Standard

This year’s Golden Plate awards in the Georgia Straight saw the Heather Hospitality Group clean up, taking eight awards in total, including first place in two categories.

The Irish Heather retained its status as not only the best pub but also home to the best pub food in the city from last year’s awards. For an authentic Irish pub experience and a menu that takes the best the best of traditional Gastropub cuisine with plenty of modern variety and flair the Irish Heather can’t be beaten.

Meanwhile Salt Tasting Room picked up recognition separately for it's status as a top wine bar and it's extensive local wine selection. Voters also decided Salt is one of the best spots in the city to take a date you met online.

It wasn’t just old hands in the Heather Group that received praise this year though – Judas Goat and Bitter Tasting Room were recognized as the best location for an imported beer list (Bitter) and best Tapas and best Spanish cuisine (Judas Goat). As new locations Bitter and Judas Goat have succeeded in earning reputations as some of the top spots in Vancouver amid fierce competition and we are rightly proud of their achievements.

The Heather Hospitality Group is also proud of another award as well – as Gastown was voted the best spot in the city for restaurants.

Congratulations to all your staff, are fellow Gastown restauranteurs and every Georgia Straight Golden Plate Awards winner.

Best Pub Food - Irish Heather Gastropub  - #1

March 17th, Irish Heather

Saint Patrick banishing the snakes from Ireland

March 17th, Irish Heather 2012

This March 17th marks our 16th St. Patrick's Day since opening the Heather and the 4th since we moved across the street.

As with previous years we have chosen the hugely successful (no cover/no fee) option. So, if you'd like to visit with us on that faithful day, and we'd love to see you, to make a reservation please email reso@irishheather.com

Even though we have 200 seats, we could probably fill the Heather/Shebeen 4 times over on the 17th. So to ensure that as many of you as are interested, get to experience the only Irish owned, Irish pub in Vancouver, we have to limit bookings to 2.5 and 3 hours. Please don't hold it against us.

We will have dancers and music passing through, but we won't know the times until 30 mins in advance. As a result, we can't guarantee that their visit will coincide with yours but it probably will, as they'll be passing a couple of times.

The menu will include Irish standards like Irish Stew, Corned Beef and Cabbage and lashings of Soda Bread along with Irish Heather favorites’ like Bangers “n” Mash, Baked Gammon, etc.

Slan,

Sean Heather
